Dear Lauderdale-By-The-Sea Neighbors,
I am proud to endorse Commissioner Theo Poulopoulos for reelection.
Before Theo first ran for office, I spoke with him about joining the Town Commission because I believed his common sense, commitment to our community, and concern for its future would serve our residents well. Theo and I shared the common goal of keeping Lauderdale-by-the-Sea a wonderful place to raise our daughters. Having served alongside him on the dais, I can confidently say that he has fulfilled that promise.
During our time together we advanced important initiatives, including the redevelopment of our downtown and the purchase of revenue-producing assets for the Town. We worked to maintain a low tax rate, keep our community safe, and preserve the character that makes Lauderdale-By-The-Sea such a special place to live.
I saw firsthand how seriously Theo takes his responsibilities. Even for a rookie, he asked thoughtful questions, considered the long-term consequences of decisions, and kept the interests of our residents at the center of his work. Now with nearly five years of experience under his belt, Theo steers the Commission through thoughtful discussion and debate over some of the most complex matters this town has ever faced.
I would love to see Theo serve another term on the Commission to continue that progress and uphold the common-sense values our Town needs: responsible spending, low taxes, public safety, and respect for our community’s unique character.
